Dear InKNOWnative Inquirer,

These newsletters are not just stories.
They are real, raw, and human accounts of what it feels like when  psychological safety is absent—and what it takes to rebuild it.

Some will shock you.
Some you’ll relate to instantly.
Some you may find hard to believe.

They come from my own experiences, my observations, and from others who have trusted me to share their stories. Every detail is written with care—names, companies, and identifying markers removed—because the goal is not to shame, but to illuminate.

These are vulnerable and courageous reflections. They are meant for those who come to this work with curiosity, respect, and a genuine intention to learn. While you may technically be able to forward them, I ask you to honor their spirit by keeping them within this community. They live here, behind a paywall, for a reason. You may always share the link and they can subscribe.

This blog is my way of closing that gap—helping people not only understand what psychological safety is, but also why it’s essential to weave it into the very fabric of their company culture. The InKNOWnative Newsletter grew out of a deeply personal journey. For years, I found myself in one difficult, even damaging, professional situation after another. I kept wondering, Why does this keep happening? Some newsletters dive deep into the details, while others offer a quick snapshot—a concise bulleted list of what happened. When I stumbled across the concept of psychological safety, everything began to make sense. It gave language to what I’d experienced—and more importantly, it offered a way forward. My hope is that by sharing what I’ve learned in these InKNOWnative Newsletters, all those “yucky” experiences might serve a greater purpose: helping others recognize, address, and prevent harm in their own environments.
